Script of What You Will Hear

When you call our Automated Answering Service, you will hear this:
This is Children & Teens Medical Center's after-hours service. If this is a life-threatening emergency, hang up and dial 911 now.

If this is a hospital physician, press 4. If this is a nurse from the hospital with notification of a newborn, press 3 now.

Please do not compromise the care of your child even though this MAY be a chargeable service.

There are 3 options:

Press 2 if this is a very severe emergency which requires the physician to immediately call you back.
Press 1 if this is an urgent call but you are able to wait for the physician to call you back in approximately one hour.
Please remain on the line if your telephone sends rotary or unrecognized tones.

You will hear a special prompt that will enable you to reach the physician on-call.

You have chosen the menu that will have the physician call back within the hour. Please speak clearly and loud enough into a good quality phone. If you do not hear back from us in a reasonable period of time, then there has been a technical problem or a missed phone number.
